California Notice at Collection

This Notice describes the categories of personal information YupUp may collect from California residents and the purposes for which the information is used. It must be presented at or before collection and linked to the full Privacy Policy. Collection varies by feature and role.

Categories collected

• Identifiers — Examples: Name, email, phone, business, account, IP/device IDs. Business or commercial purposes: Accounts, communications, SMS, security, support. Target retention: Account term + up to 3 years; consent/suppression as scheduled.
• Customer records / payment data — Examples: Contact and billing details, payment token, invoices. Business or commercial purposes: Subscription, payment, tax, fraud. Target retention: Financial records generally 7 years.
• Commercial information — Examples: Plans, purchases, merchant services, rewards. Business or commercial purposes: Provide service, analytics, support. Target retention: Account term + up to 3 years.
• Internet activity — Examples: Pages, clicks, cookies, logs, approximate IP location. Business or commercial purposes: Security, operation, analytics, marketing with choice. Target retention: Typically 13 months analytics; security logs 12-24 months.
• Geolocation — Examples: Approximate location from IP; precise only when enabled. Business or commercial purposes: Localization, fraud, requested features. Target retention: Feature need + limited operational period.
• Professional information — Examples: Title, role, employer or merchant affiliation. Business or commercial purposes: Account permissions, sales and support. Target retention: Relationship + up to 3 years.
• Inferences — Examples: Engagement, recommendations, abuse/risk signals. Business or commercial purposes: Product improvement, personalization, security. Target retention: Underlying record period or shorter.
• Sensitive personal information — Examples: Credentials; precise location or other sensitive content only when required. Business or commercial purposes: Authentication, security, requested feature. Target retention: Limited to necessary purpose.

Sale, sharing and targeted advertising

YupUp does not sell personal information for money. Depending on the advertising or analytics tools actually enabled, certain disclosures may be considered “sharing,” targeted advertising, or sale under state law. Eligible residents may opt out through /privacy-choices and applicable browser preference signals. YupUp does not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 without legally required authorization.

Sensitive personal information

YupUp uses sensitive personal information only for permitted purposes such as authentication, security, payment processing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and providing a specifically requested feature, unless additional notice and choice are provided.
