Cookie Policy

Effective July 15, 2026 · Last updated July 10, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how YupUp uses cookies, pixels, local storage, SDKs, and similar technologies on its websites and applications.

Technology categories

  • Strictly necessary — Purpose: Security, authentication, load balancing, fraud prevention, consent storage, requested features. Default treatment: Always active where necessary.
  • Preferences — Purpose: Language, region, interface and saved choices. Default treatment: Consent where required.
  • Analytics — Purpose: Understand usage, errors and performance; improve product. Default treatment: Off until consent where required.
  • Advertising / targeting — Purpose: Measure campaigns, build audiences, personalize advertising across contexts. Default treatment: Off until consent; offer opt-out where applicable.
  • Merchant or embedded tools — Purpose: Technologies loaded by a merchant page, integration, video, map, chat or other embedded service. Default treatment: Disclose by tool and obtain required consent.

Current cookie & SDK inventory

The technologies actually in use as of the effective date are listed below. YupUp does not currently set advertising or third-party analytics cookies, and does not sell personal information. This inventory is reviewed and updated as the product changes.

  • Authentication & account (strictly necessary) — First-party browser storage that keeps you signed in and preserves your account context (keys such as token, user, accounts, and selectedAccountId). Set only after you sign in.
  • Directory engagement session (strictly necessary / functional) — A first-party anonymous session identifier (key yupup_sid) used to measure aggregate directory engagement such as map, directions, call, and website taps, without identifying you.
  • Mapbox GL JS (functional) — Renders the interactive maps in the business directory; Mapbox processes map tile/font requests and may store local map or telemetry state. Provided by Mapbox.
  • Sanity (functional) — Website and policy content is delivered from Sanity’s content CDN; the admin content Studio at /studio uses Sanity authentication cookies for signed-in editors only. Provided by Sanity.

Your choices

Use the “Cookie Settings” link to accept, reject, or change non-essential technologies. Browser controls may also block or delete cookies, but some features may not work. Where legally required, YupUp recognizes applicable opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control for sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Traditional Do Not Track signals are not consistently defined; unless a law requires otherwise, our services do not respond to DNT alone.

Retention and changes

Cookie lifespans vary. YupUp’s target for analytics identifiers is no longer than 13 months unless a shorter period is required or a documented need supports another period. Consent records may be retained longer to demonstrate preferences. We will update this Policy when technologies or uses materially change.
