I purchased a DS series 180kW shared DCFC through a distributor, City Electric, in May 2023. I spent $155K on this product to install. From the very beginning, it was a disaster. The first issue was that they sent the wrong unit. I purchased stainless steel Hardware. What showed up was a white cabinet. When I contacted the distributor, City Electric, I was told they only come in white in the US. I also noticed that the unit came with 200-amp cords. Why is this important? Because it is impossible for 95% of EVs that can pull more than 150kW to get more than 82kW because the cord is too small, it should be specified with a 300 amp cord. As an advertising executive, I believe this is false advertising. The unit has not worked correctly since it went on the ground in May. Net, net, they have not been able to fix it, and they won't replace the product, which is garbage. I've been working with 11 people at Zerova, and none know their hardware warranty. I would avoid this company. Why? The arrogance I've had to deal with, the unapologetic attitude, and, quite frankly, the lack of knowledge and customer focus. After 6 months of having this lemon in the ground, I requested they rip it out and replace it. I asked six times because they kept ignoring my emails. I do not like to air dirty laundry on social media, I only go to this resort if I can't find a resolution, this company won't even discuss a resolution. Now we are in a lawsuit for a complete refund. Too many good DCFC companies are out there; this is not one of them. 12-month update. This POS unit is rusting out. Take a look, all the screw holes are rusting out. This unit still doesn't work correctly, and Zerova will not take any accountability for it. Update as of June 3, 2024. Another weekend, 50% of the cars failed. No one got anywhere near 150kW, let alone 180kW. As in my last post, I showed where it started to rust, well I was dusting it with a Swiffer and now the powder coating is chipping off. The pic is a 1/4 inch area where it's chipping off. Note that this chip is in an area without wear and tear. Today, I authorized my attorney to file suit; these folks have been blowing me off for over a year. UPDATE: May 2025. Well, two years into this, and these folks quit honoring my hardware warranty after six months. I purchased an extended 5-year hardware warranty. The fault rate on this machine is close to 80%. We head to mediation in June. In the meantime, my scores for this unit on Plugs Share are a 4. Every one of my other units has a perfect score of 10.
