The phlebotomist poked our baby in the heel, which has no capillaries, and bled him drop by drop for 30 minutes while he screamed without letting us console him. She said, "I guess he's not a bleeder." She refused to let us hold him or breast feed him, saying that was their policy. Finally the phlobotomist called the manager to "help" her, only to have the manager gaslight us and repeat the policy to us without even checking the work of the phlobotomist. But e had this same test done in the hospital when the baby was born and it only took a couple of minutes, while I was breast feeding, and the baby didn't even cry. Due to this incompetent tech, we ended up having to leave half the blood drawn. Talking to our pediatrician, we learned we have no choice but to do this urgent test stat or our baby could suffer life threatening repurcussions. We tried calling to see if another phlebotomist was available but no one picks up and there is no way to leave a message. Our pediatrician at Washington Hospital Pediatrician Group ended up having to have her office manager drive all the way over to this lab just to speak to them. With no other tech available, and no way to change the policy overnight, she ended up putting in a stat order for us to get the draw at Washington Inpatient Labs, where obviously the the phlebotomist was able to draw the blood in a minute or two, with the baby sleeping half the time, and offered to let us hold him. Our pediatrician said she would continue to work on getting this policy changed, though she couldn't do it overnight, as it's known that infants under the age of four and a half months cannot self soothe, and cannot be spoiled, so if they're crying something is wrong and it should be attended to immediately for their development.

Rude, inefficient staff and long waiting times even when there are less patients. Booking a prior appointment is also not very useful.

Very pleasant professional staff. Comfortable waiting room. Enter the building through the left entrance. The laboratory is the first door on the right as you go down the hallway.

The attention of the staff and the speed in taking the samples and delivering the results seemed fascinating to me. I am registered with MyChart and a couple of hours later I already had my results. It has plenty of parking space and good accessibility. Will recommend 100%.
