Nimmi from Blue Door Events planned and designed our Nikkah in our backyard, and she was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. She met with me multiple times and was incredibly accommodating when my vision changed — which happened often! She never once made me feel like I was being difficult and handled every change with patience and professionalism. On the day of the event, we had several technical difficulties that were completely outside her control, including unexpected bad weather for our outdoor setup. Despite this, she adapted seamlessly and still delivered the most beautiful event I could have asked for. She captured my vision perfectly —whimsical, and fairy-like — exactly what I wanted. What I also love about her work is how versatile she is. She can do very traditional Desi events, Western styles, or any combination in between. I even showed her a rough sketch I created, and she brought it to life almost exactly as imagined — if not even better. She also decorated the inside of our home for a small henna night/Dholki, and once again exceeded expectations. Nimmi and her entire team are kind, humble, and incredibly easy to work with. She is responsive, professional, and reliable — qualities that can honestly be hard to find in the wedding industry, especially within Desi events. She is up front about prices and provides itemized contracts which reflect the true price of items instead of being hedgy and hand wavey like many vendors can be and then you end up with a crazy bill at the end. I truly have zero regrets and would absolutely work with her again for future family events.

Nimmy decorated my daughter's event, and her stage decorations were not good. The table decorations were fine, but it seems like she spent more time on the table than the stage, which makes no sense because the stage is the main focus of the event. The curtains she used for the stage were incredibly wrinkled and looked so bad in the pictures. Why wouldn't you steam curtains before decorating??? It looked so unprofessional. She was also supposed to bring a table for the cake and rings to be set on in front of the couple who were going to sit in front of the stage. She brought tall pedestals instead, which would have looked silly in front of the seated couple. The restaurant had to bring us their own tables for the cake and rings. She used the pedestals to put flowers on top, but those flowers were supposed to have their own pedestals. I'm confused why she was so disorganized, and why she kept charging extra money for items that were part of the quote. Where was she going to put those flowers and candles before?? Her work is unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and work with someone else. She has caused an embarrassing event for us which was supposed to be the happiest day for our daughter as all the pictures came with wrinkled clothes!

I deeply regret hiring Blue Door for my engagement party decor at Santa Cruz. This was hands down the worst vendor experience of my entire event planning process. After seeing an initial quote that exceeded our budget, we scaled down to $2.8K for just lighting, dance floor, linens, and couples table. The moment we paid the deposit, the nightmare began. A month before my event, I requested basic samples and was met with condescending dismissals: "trust me" and "you didn't pay for that." Every question was treated like an inconvenience. If I knew exactly what I wanted for everything, why would I hire a decorator? Her unprofessionalism was astounding. Another time when I enquired about linens, she told me I had not paid for them despite having discussed about them the previous call. She then called me during work hours to argue about it, only to realize it was a typing mistake in the qty section even though we were billed the amount. Mind you there was no apology. The day that should have been special started terribly. Her team arrived late and unreachable. My fiancé was setting up the tables alone and asked if they could lend a hand instead he was met with a hostile no and and refused to lift a finger beyond bare minimum contracted tasks. Honestly for the amount of work that was done I am not sure why so many people were sent. I arrived at the venue a little before the event and instead of congratulations, the first words out of her mouth were demanding cash. That’s it. My friend insisted we make her wait for the cash but honestly I wanted her gone from my event. Every other vendor we hired - caterers, rentals, coordinators at the venue etc. - was professional, kind, and went above and beyond. Blue Door treated us like we were beneath them. If small events aren't worth their time, they should have the integrity to decline rather than take our money and deliver terrible service with contempt. Do NOT make the mistake I did. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and ruined mood on your special day.

From the very first consultation, Nimmy took the stress out of wedding planning. Nimmy listened to our ideas and turned them into a reality that was even better than we imagined. The decor was breathtaking, and the coordination was seamless. We were able to actually enjoy our wedding day knowing every detail was in their capable hands. Truly the best investment we made for our big day!
