Visited Shakers Pizza in Fremont over the weekend, and honestly, this place has that classic old-school family pizza restaurant charm that’s getting harder to find these days. The place was absolutely packed when we went, which already tells you how loved it is by the locals, but despite how busy it was, the experience was still genuinely great. What stood out immediately was how efficiently the restaurant was being run. From what I could see, there were only two staff members along with the owner handling the entire floor, yet they were incredibly organized, friendly, polite, and constantly checking on customers with a smile. You could tell this is a place that has been family-run for a long time and built a loyal community around it. Even during the rush, nobody looked stressed or ignored — they really took care of everyone. The pizzas themselves were very good — fresh, comforting, generous with toppings, and exactly the kind of pizza you want when you’re out with family or friends. They also have a bar area with beers on tap, which gives the place a nice relaxed vibe for adults while still being very family-oriented overall. Another thing that seemed to be a huge hit was the salad bar. You could tell many regulars come specifically for that as well, and it added to the whole nostalgic neighborhood-pizzeria atmosphere. Also noticed they had ice cream available, which is such a nice touch for kids and families after the meal. Overall, this is one of those places that feels genuine and welcoming — not trying too hard, just good food, hardworking people, and a warm atmosphere. We’ll definitely visit again whenever we’re in the Fremont area, and I would absolutely recommend it to families looking for a casual, friendly spot with good pizza and a local feel.

Very disappointing experience and very poor service. From the moment we walked in, the staff had an attitude and were unwelcoming. We placed an order for two pizzas (one veggie and one chicken veggie) along with two drinks. A few minutes later, we were told they were out of tomatoes. Given the attitude we had already experienced, we decided to cancel the order entirely. They agreed to refund the pizzas but refused to refund the drinks, even though no food was going to be served. The drinks were already made, but we had no use for them without the food. I explained that the issue was not just the missing ingredient but the poor treatment from the start, but they didn’t seem to care. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told the person I was speaking with was the manager. They handed us the drinks to go, but we left them there — the issue wasn’t the drinks or the missing ingredients, it was the service. Overall, very unprofessional behavior and zero effort to resolve the situation or show basic customer care. We won’t be returning.

The visit to this pizza joint was long overdue. I’m so glad I re-found this spot thanks to MSJHS Basketball event. Honestly, Shaker’s Pizza is such a hidden gem in Fremont. It’s locally owned, which I love, and the vibe inside is great. It might be the largest pizzeria in East Bay … it’s super spacious so you’re not squeezed in like sardines while you eat. The staff are also genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve dealt with lately, which makes the whole experience even better. As for the food, the pizza is seriously yummy. I’m a huge fan of the Vegetarian Combo; it’s loaded with fresh toppings and has the perfect crust-to-cheese ratio. If you’re looking for a chill place with great food and even better service, you’ve gotta check them out!

Pizza was good! No air conditioning on a 95 degree day. But the pizza was delicious!

We absolutely LOVE Shakers! The old school pizza parlor atmosphere is nostalgic and their party room areas make having bug events VERY easy. However, since the pandemic especially... the quality of customer service has gone down significantly and the quality of the entire place needs a good "makeover". There are stains everywhere on the carpet, the building is never dusted or actually clean and the new younger hires have very little customer service training. I understand that saving bills for energy is a huge thing, but serving your guests ice cream in the dark is a little but much. We've had over 5 parties here and consistently ear there and the ice cream area is never properly attended for and is always relieved as a hassle by the employees to go and serve ice cream. The food is taking longer to make and quantity and quality have steadily decreased. My family and I love Shakers but it needs some serious attention, love and care addressed to its current operations.
