I’d been seeing Dr. Saranya Jayakar as my primary care physician, but after my visit on June 15, 2026, I felt I should share my experience. I came in with three concerns, all of which I’d already gone over with the nurse and which were noted in the system: a cut on my hand from the previous day that was still stinging, pain in my right pinky finger that had lasted about two months, and roughly a month of bloating and acidity. After the nurse took my vitals and notes and left, I waited about 20 minutes for the doctor. Dr. Jayakar was pleasant when she came in, but visibly in a hurry. She looked at the cut and applied skin glue herself, which I wasn’t convinced was necessary. When I tried to bring up my other two concerns, she said there wasn’t time and that she could only address one more issue that day. We covered the finger pain and she suggested an X-ray and diclofenac gel — though the X-ray recommendation didn’t appear anywhere in my after-visit summary. She wouldn’t discuss the third issue at all, told me to book a separate appointment, mentioned that another patient was waiting, and left. I understand doctors are busy, but I paid for a consultation and was never told in advance that there was a 20-minute limit or a cap on the number of concerns I could raise. I’ve taken myself, my spouse and my child to Sutter health to see many doctors over the years and have never had a visit feel this rushed. I shared this same feedback with the supervisor at the front desk on my way out.

She is incredibly knowledgeable in her field. She takes the time to delve deep into the issues at hand, patiently explaining the diagnosis and treatment plan. While reaching her by phone can occasionally be tricky, she is very accessible via MyHealth messages, and if something urgent arises, she makes it a priority to see you as quickly as possible. Saranya Jayakar is truly an amazing doctor. She listens with so much patience and really understands what you’re going through. I really appreciated how clearly she explained everything — never rushed, never made me feel confused. Her calm approach and nature gave me a lot of confidence and comfort. Her diagnosis and guidance were very accurate and helpful, and I felt much better after speaking with her. I’m genuinely grateful for her care. I highly recommend Dr. Jayakar to anyone looking for a doctor who is skilled, kind, and truly cares about her patients.She can understand Telugu language as well.

Dr Jayakar took me in as last minute covering my primary doctor. She was very patient with me as it was my first time at Sutter Care. Her nurse was amazing. I appreciate her transparencies after a quick look of my history chart & the questions I have.

Saranya Jayakar is an amazing and caring M.D. She listens and takes every precaution to make sure she finds out the answers to any medical issues your having. I have never seen a M.D go into depth and take the time need to make the patient feel comfortable. I appreciate all she has done for me over the years . I’m so blessed to have her as my M.D.
