I purchased an Optoma UHD35x 4K UHD gaming projector (3,600 lumens, 240Hz, HDR10/HLG) expecting a reliable product for home use. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. The first unit I received was defective out of the box and would not power on. It was replaced, but the replacement unit has now completely failed after about 2.5 years of normal household use and no longer powers on. I contacted Optoma Technology, Inc., but they declined to offer repair or replacement beyond a paid service, with no meaningful after-sales support or consideration provided. Given the price and specifications of this projector, I would have expected significantly better durability and support. Based on my experience with two failed units, I cannot recommend this product or brand.

Optoma has provided horrible customer support. We sent a projector to them six weeks ago for basic repair. They still have not shipped it back to us. We have approved everything they requested. They make excuse after excuse. Today they even told us that 2-day shipping is faster than overnighting. I would not send my projector to Optoma for repair again. Their Taiwanese headquarters needs to implement fixes to the US operation.

Love my Optima projector but I had the worst customer service from your shipping dept today when inquiring about my replacement bulb order. The woman I spoke to gave me such low brow and passive aggressive service that I had to tell her not to speak to me that way. There wasn’t any reason for the bad attitude, I was nice and polite and if Optima were to listen to the call I’m sure you could use it for a coaching opportunity to train her in not treating your customers like dirt, assuming Optima records calls for quality purposes.

Very disappointed by reliability and service. Projector died just after the warranty period. RMA is 650$ and the part is not available and they could not tell me when it would be. So basically I'm stuck with an unfixable 1500$ piece of plastic garbage now.

Our projector died after 2 years (1000 bulb hours) of use. We spent almost $1400 on it. Hopefully their repair service is reasonable....
