I went in as a new patient and enjoyed my experience! The Doctors were all very detailed, explaining the next step before happening. They constantly made sure I was feeling comfortable and if I was in any pain. Front desk was amazing and helped me with any questions I had. I highly recommend NorCal dental!

The assistant at this location is not good. My dad had the screw implants for his lower gum. The lady assistant who assisted in sucking liquid was so bad that liquid kept going into my dad’s throat that caused him very severe gagging. She also pulled my dad’s lower lip so hard that it got swollen and it’s been hurting after 4 days. I would advise the dental practice owner to be a bit mindful of your assistants. The dentist himself can do a good job but all that can be wiped out by a bad assistant.

I would like to say that everyone was very nice, but that doesn’t make a good dental practice. My advice: Don’t agree to any procedure or payment until you get a printed, itemized estimate and confirm everything with your insurance. I chose not to move forward with treatment here. My appointment started 30 minutes late because they were verifying my insurance, despite making the appointment several weeks ago. The cleaning was rushed and unprofessional — no gum pocket check, water spraying on my face, and such bad suctioning that I swallowed water repeatedly. They also put a sticky “vitamin gel” on my teeth that left stringy chunks behind. I had to go home and clean my teeth again after the cleaning. The biggest red flags were the sudden price changes and lack of transparency. The estimate on the computer listed an $89 filling, but when I said I only wanted that done, they suddenly said it would be $289. When I asked for an itemized estimate with actual prices (which patients in CA are legally entitled to), they told me it was “against their policy.” This violates state and federal laws, no matter what their policy states. They also claimed a $500 core buildup wasn’t covered, even though my insurance later confirmed it is covered at 50%. The only reason insurance wouldn’t pay for it is if the dentist failed to provide documentation showing it was medically necessary. So at that point, it was either not medically necessary, or the dentist didn’t want to submit the required documentation to prove it. When I asked the dentist why it was listed as “not covered” on their computer statement, she gave multiple excuses, none of which matched what my insurance explained. Please don’t believe everything they tell you. Ask more questions and contact your insurance company. I understand that Delta Dental is not the most generous insurance for providers, and the Tricare version is even worse. I’m retired from the military and pay $100 a month for my dental coverage. If your office doesn’t like Delta Dental’s reimbursement rates, then simply don’t accept patients with that plan. What isn’t acceptable is making up charges, inflating prices, or taking advantage of what patients may not know about their insurance benefits. That kind of behavior is not only unethical, it’s exactly why patients lose trust in dental offices.

Had a wisdom tooth removal. Best dentist I have ever been to in my life. Normally I am in constant pain when I go to the dentist but this was the most painless appointment I've ever had and it was a surgery. Definitely go here. Only dentist I will ever see again. Most friendly staff and the most skilled dentist. Best dentist in the bay area. Mind the messy hair.

Very friendly and personable. I like many I’m sure don’t look forward to going to the dentist, but the folks here do a good job at making the experience pretty pleasant while still being very thorough.
