They got rid of the water feature in the middle of the seating area so this mcdonalds lost a lot of its charm :( - (2025/08/03) Got a spicy chicken wrap, medium fries, and a spicy mcchicken. Everything was decent I used coupons and rewards so my total was 3.14.

This spot is nostalgic for me as I used to stop here occasionally with my dad on our commute 30+ years ago. I like that the building has (slightly ironically) tried to maintain some semblance of "mission"-style aesthetic because of its locale (on Mission Blvd. near Mission San Jose). The combination of white, Santa Barbara Mission-style lime and sand stucco + terra cotta, ceramic tiles iconically represents the type of parasitic-franchise-attched-to-historical-monument that resonates with me as a millennial American. The food and service are what you expect from a well-run McDonalds. Stop here and check out the fountain when traffic on 680 comes to a halt. (ff: I used to get burgers here for 29 cents on promotional days in "the late 1900s.")

This is one of the cleanest McDonald's that I've been to. And my kids have decided that their specialty is McDs. The bathrooms were clean with hot running water and warm air dryers. Inside was immaculate with the quiet kitchen and helpful staff. I marked down one star because the soda machines were not quite right and all of the drinks tasted yucky. But staff was friendly and helpful, and overall a wonderful visit.

I ordered the Big Mac set meal. After paying and waiting a few minutes, the staff told me they were out of set meals. I told them other options were fine, and then waited. About 30 minutes later, I found my food on the counter, already cold. No one had informed me, and no one had called my order number.

My nephew loves the vanilla shake at this McDonald’s, and it’s become a regular stop for us. I usually order through the drive-through, and the shakes are always consistent and tasty.
