Avoid - Overpriced and Gross I visit this store 4-7 times a week out of pure convenience, spending up to $1,000/mo, but it’s a depressing experience. I leave feeling like I need a shower and something to inspire hope in the world. I write this to advocate for changes, not to criticize the humans running the show. EXPERIENCE: I hesitate to bring my children here. While I strongly advocate for compassion toward the unhoused population nearby, allowing them to sit on products, or smoke and panhandle at the entrances creates an undesirable environment. The carts are broken and coated in black, questionable grime. Nobody should be putting food in them, and baskets are nonexistent. After dark, carts are used to barricade doors against theft - forcing entrance through the self pay area. Right now there are 3 carts used as walls to a tent out front and dingy hygiene products poked in the holes. Security is desperately needed to deter theft and enforce sanitary policies like dogs running wild, speaking of which… DOGS: Aren’t there laws against this? Dogs (not service animals) are present on at least 25% of my visits (no exaggeration, probably more) and I've witnessed a scramble to clean up a pet's mess on the floor. They sniff food in the aisles, are placed in carts, and employees celebrate them/rub them all over, then handle my groceries. Many of these are unsanitary dogs that live with the unhoused. Employees treat dogs significantly better than the actual shoppers. Speaking of which... CUSTOMER SERVICE: In short, the vibe is forced labor camp. Annoyance and lack of eye contact or acknowledgement at cash register. Constantly talking about personal gripes, breaks, going home, complaining about customers that just left, openly (not everyone, but more than half). Getting a "thank you" or any acknowledgement of my existence at all happens 10% of the time! Customer service is not a priority. I realize that to a store employee, shoppers are a nuisance. Maybe they are too busy checking food quality! Nah, definitely not, here’s why… QUALITY: I don’t even bother returning moldy or expired items anymore. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me 25+ times, shame on me. Recently, this has included spoiled meat, expired deli ham, and rotting produce like onions or dairy products like bad cheese or yogurt. And why are the milk jugs constantly filthy with black grime and soot? Wanna see something gross? Look under the milk storage area. One of many places that make me gag. You’d hope compromised quality means discounted prices. This is how the world works, right? Wrong… PRICES: My kids joke that it’s ironic to hear the intercom chirp “price dropped, inflation stopped” while we shop. I know it’s 2026 and inflation is real, but my barometer for these prices are cleaner stores with much lower prices of exact same products nearby. Most recently, $4.99 for 8 twigs of organic cilantro - with brown spots on them. Bad quality + high prices = terrible business. Yes, they have sales - but even those have issues, so I'm glad we brought that up… MISLEADING PRICES: Watch the register like a hawk. Most recent example - indifferent clerk rang up 8 packages of mushrooms instead of one. Sales can be so deceptive it’s hard to think it’s not intentional. Recent example: Hiding sale-priced T-bones behind identical "thin cut" ones that ring up at full (high) price..no difference on the product description itself other than a "thin cut" sticker on the prominently displayed. I’ve seen dozens of customers arguing over these exact tricks. Honestly, I don’t even mind the tricks bc my own diligence should deter this. But everything else, get it together. When I bring my kids or parents here, they ask me why in the world I would shop there. After years, I’m going to be Instacarting from other stores or making a slightly farther drive. I can’t deal anymore. DO BETTER FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

The prices of generally 2 to 5 times higher than Amazon! Only ONCE did I find an equal price (Oscar Mayer roasted deli turkey, 1lb $3.97, but because it was short dated). Convenient, since I go to the nearby library. EBT.

The best grocery for exotic foods from other countries. I try everything. I drive here from Santa Rosa, California, because the food is more interesting, international, exotic. Amazing team. Great lessons on taste and dishes for my family and children

Unfortunately this is the closest store to my house and usually they always have more than the union city store and I feel it's better on some levels but this store always has poor quality of meat sometimes old, expired soups, fruits and veggies is always a toss up on quality mostly not great tho. Once time I bought a bag of shredded cheese that had mold in it when I got it home. So always check expiration dates and look at meats real good before purchasing. Other than that they carry alot and staff is friendly.

It's a pretty standard store but like most stores they are super convinient when they're almost at your doorstep! This is my goto for any last minute essentials or missing ingredients we may need without having to travel anywhere! It's fairly clean inside and i have nothing negative to say about this location!
