Ultimately, after paying for diagnostics twice and replacing a battery that may not have been the underlying problem to my car not starting, I am left without a clear explanation or confirmed resolution. I am disappointed by the lack of a definitive diagnosis and the additional costs incurred without a conclusive fix. Not to mention the service technician got the interior of the driver side all dirty with either grease or oil.

Something feels off. I've been coming here since 2024 and I think they've been through 2 ownership changes since then. This most current changeover is in full swing but this place feels barebones and is heavily in the midst of being under construction as of June 2026. The old service advisors are gone, showroom is closed and the waiting room is moved to where the old parts counter was - just a mess. On top of all that, the service advisors that should inspire confidence and put their best foot forward with customers seem tired, under-enthused, unconvinced of the services they're recommending and new at this - all at the same time - I get it. Hard to sell. This visit gets 1 star for sad vibes, 3 stars for the job getting done. SPECIAL SHOUTOUT: this bro, Jose, behind the service counter gets 5 stars for 1 - keeping it real, 2 - making solid recommendations about what I should do for service 3 - going above and beyond finding parts. Give this guy a raise. Thank you Jose! Passing along a special tip too - don't pay the book price for oil change, its coming in at $230+. Wait for a coupon and save almost 50%.

Fear-Based Upselling and Misleading Service Recommendations I had an extremely disappointing experience with Fremont Hyundai's service department under the dealership's new ownership. I brought my 2023 Hyundai Tucson in for service at approximately 23,500 miles. My advisor, Walter Deras, told me I was "1,500 miles overdue" for service and that I had "clearly not been taking care of my car." After reviewing my owner's manual, I discovered that Hyundai's recommended interval for this service is 24,000 miles. My vehicle was not overdue at all. Walter sold me a $478 "24K Mile Service" package that included items such as fuel system cleaners, oil conditioner, crankcase cleaning, corrosion inhibitor treatments, and AC treatments. I specifically mentioned that my previous services had been performed at Hyundai of San Bruno and Hyundai South Bay and that neither dealership had ever recommended these services. His response was: "I apologize for what they did, but now I am telling you all this." About 90 minutes later, after researching Hyundai's maintenance schedule and learning that many of these services were optional dealer recommendations rather than manufacturer-required maintenance, I returned and asked to cancel the package. My vehicle remained at the dealership for roughly three hours total, yet I was told that everything had already been completed and nothing could be removed. When I questioned the necessity of the package, I was told that if I followed the owner's manual, I would "ruin" my car and that "if you don't want to take care of your car, that's fine." I escalated the issue to Service Manager TJ. While he was polite, he refused to make any adjustment and stood behind the recommendation. He also mentioned that the dealership is under new ownership and trying to improve the customer experience. Unfortunately, this entire experience occurred under that new ownership. My issue is not that optional services were offered. My issue is that I felt pressured into purchasing a $478 package through inaccurate statements about being overdue for service, comments suggesting I was not taking care of my vehicle, and fear-based messaging about following Hyundai's own maintenance schedule. I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere for future service.

Terrible experience. The service advisor was incredibly rude and demeaning—they lack basic customer service skills and are completely unfit for any customer facing role. On top of the awful attitude, I had to wait over six hours just for basic maintenance. If you don't have the capacity to service a car on time, please do not confirm the appointment. The advisor needs to fix their attitude and learn how to respect customers. This behavior is unacceptable.

Extremely poor service experience. We initially gave our car for a dashboard issue, and it was kept for one full week. When it was returned, the issue was not fixed at all and came back immediately. We had to send the car again, and this time they kept it for almost two weeks. Instead of fixing the problem, they made the condition of the car significantly worse. The interiors were completely mishandled, the seats, which were originally white, came back dirty and blackened with grease stains and even the dashboard was left in bad condition. On top of that, there are now scratches on the car that were not present before. After nearly three weeks of back-and-forth, the car has been returned in worse condition than before. This level of negligence, poor workmanship, and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable.
