I was in the Shasta unit in February 2025 and it was traumatic for me, but maybe that's just all hospitals haha. Some of the staff in the unit demonstrated preferential treatment, gossiping about patients, and passive-aggressiveness. The biggest thing for me was the boredom. They have groups every day, but they are all corny and geared towards children and I didn't want to participate. That's just me though, maybe other people enjoy them. There is little to nothing for adults to do. I spent most of my time sleeping, luckily they didn't have a problem with it. As for the actual medical portion, I think they just do what they're supposed to do, and that's it. There's not much anybody can do for a patient in just under two weeks except observe. I expressed that I was anxious about being in there to the staff several times, and they gave me medication to help with it sometimes. The only thing that helped with my anxiety was getting released. It was truly an experience I will never forget.

I was struggling immensely with my mental health and was initially hesitant to seek help because the idea of a psychiatric hospital was intimidating to me. I am so glad that I decided to give it a chance, because it was nothing like I was imagining. It was difficult adjusting at first, but things gradually became better with time. Thank you Amber, Nicholas, Camilo, Brooke, Regina, Simran, Kathy, In Suk, Singh, Cathy, and Celine for your kindness, patience, and warmth throughout the process. I am so grateful for all of you. I highly recommend Fremont Hospital's outpatient program to anyone seeking support. Amber and her team genuinely care about their patients and work incredibly hard to provide the support and care people need.

I was admitted in January 2025 and got released in February 2025, i was on the Monterey unit. I was nervous to go, but once i got there everyone was so sweet and kind. I felt seen there and felt like the nurses were really caring and understanding. The food was okay for being hospital food. My favorite nurses were Cristal and Samantha, they were funny and sweet. I miss the girls i became friends with in there, especially alyah she was one of my favorites!!

I want to reiterate what a lot of 1 star reviews here stay. I was on a 5150 hold in January, and they extended it to 5250 without any suicide ideation and harm to others. The notes say that I was coherent, listening to advice and stable before the 72 hours mark. I just consulted a lawyer and I’m working on the next steps. I advise anyone else to do the same. It seemed to me that it was almost their default measure to extend stays after the 72 hour mark which is absolutely wreckless given the effects of such hold. I advice anyone else feeling that way to take their paperwork to an attorney. This doctor will be hearing from my lawyers very soon.

All the staff here was amazing the program really helped even the patients are very supportive here. The facility was always clean, and they make sure patients were safe and if you ever miss a day they will call and look for you to make sure you are safe.
