This business is often missed on Mission Blvd. because of how hidden it is -- but I would say this is one of the MANY hidden gems of Fremont by far. EE Home Cooking whips up the most authentic southern style family dishes, ranging anywhere from veggies, to noodles, and more. They are a hole in a wall and is a restaurant that's quite convenient for the students at Ohlone to go to (due to its close proximity of the school). The owner and the chef are very nice, and they even give you 10% off the order if you do takeout! Talk about AMAZING. The sit-in dining experience was nothing short of the AMAZING time my family and I had there, as the hospitality was very generous and so was the ambiance as well. I will say that there are limited amounts of space, but as soon as you strike up a conversation with the owner, she will make you feel like home. The food portions were a little bit on the smaller side, given the storefront and how small it is, so I found it a little surprising. But the dishes we got tasted super fresh and made with the heart. This place is definitely not to be missed upon -- but definitely worth the time to visit and support such a local business!

3 dishes for $30?! Can't get better than this. Definitely one of my favorite places to get Chinese food in Fremont. Place is small with a few tables but most people seem to take it to go. If you dine in though, you get the soup of the day! Soup is typically a clear herby broth. Food is flavorful, portions are decent, and service is great and fast. I love the sweet shanxi fish fillet (tastes almost like sweet and sour fish) as well as their black bean fish. But really, you can't go wrong with anything you order here!!! In addition they have lunch specials on weekdays (except Wednesday because they are closed) and accept credit cards with no extra charge!

This place is a total gem. The food and service exceeded our expectations. EE, was so attentive and sweet to us. We felt right at home. And the portions were generous and reasonably priced. We are definitely coming back.

Ordered the seafood tofu hot pot with rice and soup. The soup was an unusual bird's nest soup with yam and corn on the cob. Before I was half done with the soup, the hot pot was ready! The squid was tender and the shrimp tasted fresh. The fish filet wasn't overcooked. It was served piping, burning hot - perfect. Note that you can ask the chef for less salt or less oil - professional Chinese chefs are never offended if you ask for small adjustments. The total came to $13.02 after tax. Service was fast and friendly. The only improvement I could ask for is better attention to cleanliness (having to shoo two flies while eating ruins the experience). Otherwise, a solid five stars. I'll be back to try their lunch specials.
