We had a fantastic first lunch here with the family. We tried a little bit of everything: the thattai idli, vada, masala dosa combo, thakkali thokku dosa, gonkura chutney dosa, and a plain dosa. The main dishes were all incredibly authentic and delicious. The idlis and vada, in particular, were perfectly soft with a great texture. While the sambar and chutneys were good, they weren't the absolute best we've had. A quick tip for future diners: the dosas are huge—about 1.5 to 2 times the size you'd find elsewhere, so keep that in mind when ordering! The prices are very reasonable, and the service was super fast and friendly. A bonus tip: check out the adjacent Chennai grocery store for authentic ready-made mixes like puliodharai. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

I ordered from Dosa Express in Fremont via DoorDash, hoping for a solid South Indian meal, but what I got was a complete letdown. The sambar was essentially flavored water, lacking any richness or depth. Every single chutney—the coconut, the spicy, the green—were equally diluted. It was as if someone had taken actual sauces and thinned them out beyond recognition. The flavors were nonexistent, and the texture was watery and unappetizing. For a place specializing in dosas, this was shockingly subpar. I expected authentic, rich flavors, and instead, I got a meal that felt hastily watered down. I won’t be returning, and I honestly can’t recommend this place to anyone looking for quality.

Today we tried the Masala Dosa and their new Malaysian Hawker dish, Roti Canai and they were both delicious! Quite large portions so the prices are reasonable. (dosa was huge!) we also got to try the Rose Coconut milk drink and it was very nice, not too sweet and refreshing. Great service and was very helpful with dish recommendations. Highly recommend a try if you are in the area for Indian food.

We’ve visited twice now, and this place has quickly become a family favorite. Everything we tried tasted fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light — not greasy at all, which we really appreciated. The idli was soft and fresh, the variety of dosas were crispy and delicious with great flavor, and the mango lassi was perfectly refreshing. We also loved the filter coffee and badam milk — both were authentic and satisfying. What stood out beyond the food was the consistently fresh preparation and the polite, welcoming staff who made the experience even better. Definitely a spot we’ll keep coming back to!

I visited Dosa Express with my friends, food was very delicious and we would definitely drop off very often. Very good taste at affordable price. Staffs were really welcoming, polite and customer service was great👍. We also purchased their idly batter which apparently is preservative free. Taste of this batter came out way good than expected and it doesnt bloat your tummy like other batters do. This will be our go to batter from now onwards.
