Management at this gym clearly prioritizes profit over members. For months, members have been asking for more weights. We’ve been promised updates again and again, but nothing ever changes. Instead, the explanations keep shifting—first delays, then claims that weights are being stolen, then excuses about not having locks. It’s hard to take any of this seriously at this point. What makes it worse is that members are expected to carry their own weights in and out for class, yet at the same time we’re being indirectly accused of stealing them. That’s honestly insulting. Especially considering that after every class, the trainer carefully locks all the weights away—so which is it? Classes are consistently overcrowded because of a popular trainer (who, frankly, seems underpaid given the demand), but the gym still refuses to provide enough equipment. So you end up in a packed class without the basic weights needed to actually follow the workout. On top of that, hygiene is an issue. There is hair left around during classes, which is unpleasant and not acceptable for a gym at this price point. Overall, management seems unresponsive, disorganized, and unwilling to invest in improving the member experience. If you’re considering joining, be aware that promises made here don’t match reality.

I recently joined City Sports in Mowry after trying out the 24hrs. City Sports feels way better in terms of the crowd, cleanliness, and maintenance. There will be queues outside the 24hr classes, and people literally run to fix the spots; nothing of that sort here. The wait is a bit less compared to that one. Overall, I am happy with the experiences so far.

City Sports Club having a 3.7 rating is honestly comedy. That number is way too high for a gym this unprofessional and poorly run. The only people who seem to care are maybe one or two members of the cleaning crew — and they stand out only because the rest of the staff is so checked‑out, rude, and uninterested that anyone doing their job looks like a miracle. This place gives “ we hire anyone especially rude and unprofessional” energy. The staff acts allergic to professionalism, the environment feels neglected, and nothing about this gym deserves even a single star. If this is what passes for above average, the bar must be buried underground. Save your time, your money, and your patience — this gym stays below basic in every possible way.

2nd update on March 6, 2026 I had to remove 2 stars. Now 2 stars left. They have quietly removed the soap from the showers, removed the dispensers and no word what the plan is. The most disastrous thing that happened this week is that the city closed down their swimming pool. Here are the reasons. 1. For failing specs to prevent electrocution risk related to grounding. 2. Turned out the pool has been running with 400% more chlorine than allowed. Paying customers cannot use the pool and it has been a week and no word as to when it will be opened is communicated. in a matter of few Months my stars went from 5 starts to 2 stars. This club has management/owner problems. ==================== update on Feb 12, 2026. After few Months, I am lowering the stars from 5 to 4. Fixing, repairing or replacing essential equipment and fixtures takes too long. e.g Can't have a shower soap dispenser removed for a month. If the owner or manager (Travis) go see, they will find showers not having soap dispensers, some for months. Hard to believe they don't know. Swimming pool temp varies and usually on the colder size in winter. I will continue assessing and update here. =============== So far so good, been a few months. The place is clean. As far as equipment goes, it has squat racks, barbells, free weights, machines, cardio equipment, racquet ball, basket ball, swimming pool, sauna, hot-tub, gymnastic area, boxing area, it has it all. It is also pretty, when one enters, one find it airy and wide. I have to say I find it much cleaner than 24hr fitness. The only issue is their business hours. Their schedule is short in the weekdays and weekend. I am used to the beloved Planet fitness across the street where am still a member there. just in case I am keeping my beloved planet fitness membership, although so far CitySports is working for me. If Planet fitness had barbells one can squat and bench press with as free weight, I would have stayed there forever. The fee is $45 @ city sports vs $10 for planet fitness. =================

Front desk and the sales person was professional and friendly. Walked me through each of the membership tiers and suggested applicable options without being salesy. Facility itself is large, clean, and maintained to a standard. The only issue is the crowd during peak hours but that’s at most gyms.
