This is an absolutely terrible place. I brought my two children for a trial lesson, and the experience was appalling from start to finish. First, the facility is overcrowded. They cram four children into a single narrow lane, leaving no room for actual swimming. While there are many instructors, most looked exhausted and completely lacked any passion for teaching. The most disturbing part was the toxic behavior of the coaches. My daughter came to me in tears after her lesson, telling me she never wanted to return. She overheard multiple instructors openly mocking the students. According to her, they were loudly calling the children "losers" for not learning fast enough, and referring to them as "little monsters" and "crybabies." My daughter was shocked and felt incredibly unsafe. It is clear these instructors have no patience or respect for children. Why are they even in this profession? While my other child's coach was slightly better, they spent the last 10 minutes of the session chatting about their after-work plans, leaving my child just sitting in the water doing nothing. When I requested a refund, the manager tried to pressure us into trying another coach. My daughter bravely told her, "All your coaches were just cursing at the kids; I don't want to come back." Despite promising a refund and a check, the facility went silent and ignored my follow-ups. I eventually had to contact my bank to dispute the charges. To all parents: Please do not just sit on your phones during lessons. You need to hear how these people talk about your children. I highly DISCOURAGE anyone from coming here. This place is unprofessional, overcrowded, and emotionally damaging to kids.

I’ve been to 3 swim schools and Calphin is so far the best overall. All of the instructors are very responsible and they has a well structured plan to let the kids progressively learn and practice. They are also very efficient even for group classes. Every kid gets plenty of time to practice, instead of waiting and wasting time on the side. This is critical for learning swimming.

My 3yo son has been stuck PK Bubbler 1 for the last 2 seasons. The first time his coach noted that he is almost there and just needs to kick. The second time, a different coach noted he needs to kick faster. It seems the bar has been changing each season and there’s no consistency with coaches. His second coach, chenpei xu, has been unprofessional towards his toddler students. He’s been seen (and heard) mocking my son as well as his other students when they make a mistake. He has been making fun of them with the other coaches for not passing on test day last week. I heard him make a comment about my son and two other toddlers for being there for 7 weeks and still not being able to pass. My son is three and his coach lacks the skills required to teach young ones. It’s quite difficult to thrive under those circumstances. Update: Calphin did reach out to rectify the problems. They have spoken to the coach and will be able to provide a different coach for my son moving forward.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience with the Calphin swim classes! My daughter has been attending since 9 months, and it’s been amazing to see her progress. The instructors are very patient, gentle, and talented . The environment feels safe and supportive, which made it so much easier for me as a parent to trust the process.

We've been with Calphin Swim Academy for a while now and couldn't be happier with our kids' progress. When they first started, they were hesitant in the water — now they're swimming with real confidence and technique. The instructors here are patient, encouraging, and clearly know how to connect with kids at every level. Highly recommend Calphin to any family looking for swim lessons that actually deliver results!
