Pacific Commons Shopping Center in Fremont Is on the Market

One of Fremont’s busiest shopping destinations is for sale—but shoppers should not expect the stores to close.

Pacific Commons Shopping Center, the large open-air retail destination located near Interstate 880 in Fremont, California, has been placed on the market.

The property includes approximately 887,130 square feet of retail space across 84 acres. According to the official JLL sales listing, Pacific Commons is currently 92% occupied and receives approximately 12.5 million visits annually.

The shopping center is anchored by major retailers including Costco, Lowe’s, and Target. Other businesses at Pacific Commons include restaurants, entertainment venues, service providers, and national retail brands that attract customers from Fremont and surrounding Bay Area communities.

A future 100,000-square-foot H Mart flagship store is also expected to become part of the shopping center. JLL says more than 140,000 square feet of additional tenants are expected in 2027, potentially increasing annual visits to more than 15 million.

Does the sale mean Pacific Commons is closing?

No closure has been announced.

The property is being marketed to prospective investors, but the stores and restaurants are expected to continue operating during the sales process. A property sale normally changes who owns and manages the real estate; it does not automatically remove the businesses leasing space there.

The asking price has not been publicly disclosed. JLL is marketing the opportunity as the sale of the complete ownership interest in the retail property.
