Investigation Continues After Fatal Fremont Police Shooting

Authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting on Walnut Avenue in Fremont.

A person died following an officer-involved shooting on July 24, 2026, at a facility located on the 3800 block of Walnut Avenue.

Fremont Police reported that dispatchers began receiving calls at approximately 3:38 p.m. concerning a person with an apparent firearm. Police said callers reported that the individual had entered a meeting room where two people were located.

Officers responded to the location, and an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The individual was transported to a hospital and was later pronounced dead. Police stated in their initial announcement that no officers were injured and that there were no outstanding suspects or continuing threats to the public.
