We recently completed a major renovation of our bathrooms and kitchen, and Jamie Cai at East Star Building Supply in Fremont was an incredible partner throughout the whole process. From the start, Jamie was quick to respond, patient with our many questions, and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of our project. She was always attentive to our needs and gave us the guidance and support we needed to make what could have been overwhelming decisions so much easier. Jamie was always responsive to emails and phone calls, and her professionalism truly stood out even when we changed our minds on certain items. Her willingness to help and her attention to detail made a big difference, and we felt fully supported every step of the way. East Star itself is a fantastic store with multiple locations and a huge selection of quality products at very competitive prices. I highly recommend East Star and especially Jamie Cai to anyone looking to renovate their home. I will definitely be using East Star for any future renovation projects!

We had an incredibly smooth and positive experience with East Star Building Supply for our kitchen cabinet and remodeling needs. Before settling on them, we did extensive research, visited numerous stores across the Bay Area, and did a thorough price comparison. Based on a strong recommendation from friends, we chose East Star, and looking back, it was absolutely the right decision. Their prices are highly competitive, and the overall professionalism of the team is top-notch. The sales representatives are exceptionally helpful. A special shoutout to Nikki, who walked us through the entire process from start to finish. She was incredibly knowledgeable and pointed out potential pitfalls we hadn’t even thought of initially, which saved us a lot of headache. While it took us a few visits to the store to finalize everything, all of our ordered supplies arrived right on time. The quality of the materials is excellent. When we did have a minor concern with an item, East Star was incredibly prompt to handle the exchange and provide a replacement without any hassle. The store itself is in a convenient location in Fremont right off Kato Road (near the 880), features ample parking space, and maintains a great inventory of diverse supplies. I highly recommend anyone in the area looking to remodel to give them a shot!

East star is awesome. I will go back here for all of my kitchen and bathroom remodels. The staff was super fast and helped me professionally CAD everything up and check dimensions and were just super professional and fast and really high-quality product. Can’t recommend enough. What a gem. Such experts.

We visited East Star Building Supply over the weekend based on our contractor's recommendation, hoping to purchase custom made kitchen. After spending a considerable amount of time browsing the store and selecting materials, we approached the customer service desk for an assistance with layout and final estimate. Despite several staff members being present, we were repeatedly ignored and no acknowledged us or offered help. Eventually, Jet Chen waved us over from his chair. When we approached and explained that we needed help with a kitchen layout and estimate and showed him their cabinet material sample, his immediate response was that it was " too expensive". At no point had we discussed our budget, yet he made an instant assumption about what we could afford. When we questioned how he could make that determination without any information, he deflected by saying the project would have a long lead time and if we are sure we need it. We responded that we were willing to wait 4-6 months, but he then claimed it would take even longer, offering no real assistance or effort to help us move forward. The entire interaction felt dismissive and prejudiced from the beginning. Based on how we were treated, ignored, then judged without basis, it strongly appeared that assumptions were being made about us based on our ethnicity and appearance. The experience was unprofessional , discriminatory and unacceptable. we chose to leave before the situation escalated further.There any many video cameras monitoring the store at every corner, hopefully the management of the store can review and respond why their employees engage in such discriminatory behavior. We would not recommend this business to anyone seeking respectful and fair customer service. Update: Thank you for your response. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, I am concerned that it relies primarily on explanations rather than taking full accountability for the issues raised, calling discrimination “ miscommunication “ is simply unacceptable. References to busy periods or possible miscommunication do not adequately address the underlying concerns regarding the quality of customer service and conduct that may not align with applicable laws and regulations. These matters warrant more than general clarification. I urge you to focus on substantive improvements. This should include comprehensive staff training, reinforcement of compliance with all legal and ethical standards, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce capable of serving a broad range of customers with professionalism and respect. Customers should be able to engage with your business with confidence that they will be treated fairly and in accordance with established standards.

This is a 1 stop shop with everything you need. They will give you honest, expert feedback, that’s really helpful for guys and girls like me, not a contractor, but pretty handy and appreciates quality, a great deal and GOOD HONEST PEOPLE!!!
